The purpose of cutting: The purpose of cutting is to cut large copper-clad laminates into small pieces of various specifications for production, in order to facilitate subsequent production processes. The specific steps include cutting, baking, edge planing, chamfering, etc.

Definition and specifications of copper-clad laminate (CCL): Copper clad laminate (CCL) is made by impregnating wood pulp paper or fiberglass cloth with resin, covering one or both sides with copper foil, and then hot pressing. Common thicknesses include 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.7mm, 0.9mm, 1.1mm, 1.5mm, and 1.9mm. The size of copper-clad laminates is usually 3749 inches (9401245mm) or 4149 inches (10411245mm), and can also be customized according to customer needs.

The specific process of cutting materials:

Cutting: Cut large copper-clad laminates into sizes suitable for production.

Baking: By baking, water vapor is removed, internal stress is eliminated, and board warping is prevented.

Edge planing: Processing the edge of the board to make it smooth and free of burrs.

Chamfering: Process the right angle of the board corner into rounded corner 1.

The selection criteria for the cutting machine: The cutting machine needs to have high-precision cutting quality, convenient interactive interface, and the ability to recognize multiple files. There are usually two processing platforms, and one platform will automatically switch to the next platform after processing.

The importance of cutting in PCB production: Cutting is the first step in PCB production, and its quality directly affects the smooth progress of subsequent processes and the quality of the final product. Accurate cutting can maximize the utilization of raw materials and improve production efficiency.
